(Nov 4, 2022) Following the release of her uptempo, feel-good single “Space and Time” , rising Toronto artist, Tasha Angela, maintains the momentum with a double single release in the form of “Love Is My Condition” / “Away”.
Continuing to unveil her artistry on an international level, the double single release sees the multi-faceted artist share two different sides to her character, as she depicts a balance of vulnerability and honesty, as well as a celebration of love and the feelings that come with it. Further showcasing her breadth of talent and not restricting herself to creative boundaries, the new release is a contrast to her previous release, as she effortlessly shows versatility in what she has to offer.
On the slick and moody single “Love Is My Condition”, Tasha explains saying, “This song was written in the dark in my bedroom with a piano; Very bare bones and has a sense of comfort and truth. This song reflects on the negative side of love and how if your naive, it can manipulate you and take advantage of you. Through many tough lessons about love I’ve realized that constantly searching for love is what pushes it farther away. Learning to love yourself is the only way to find true love and meaning. Surprisingly once I realized that, that’s when I found it.

Tapping into her feelings to further explore her emotions when in the honeymoon stages of a relationship, track “Away” is a refreshing and relatable track for the masses.
Speaking on the track, Tasha Angela explained, “Away” was the last song I wrote for the album. I was in a space where I wanted to connect with my feminine side and be honest about how I felt towards someone I was seeing at the time. Every woman wants to feel loved and protected and I think it will resonate with a lot of people who feel that way sometimes, but may not want to show it.”

With support to date including a number of tastemakers (including COLORS, WORDPLAY MAGAZINE, CLASH, HIP HOP Canada, CBC Music), and amassing incredible numbers across streaming platforms (3M+ streams on Spotify, 538.5K streams on Apple Music, 235K views on YouTube) as she continues to tease her forthcoming project, this ineffable talent remains a strong contender as one to watch for 2023.
Tasha was introduced to the piano by her aunt as a child. Piano being her first instrument taught her discipline and of course musicality. As she grew up, she started to learn and build confidence in other veins of music including dancing, writing and composing. This lead her to enter the renowned singing/music organization, Honey Jam in Toronto. There, Tasha developed a sense of confidence and what it would be like to be an artist. She continued to work and do music until she finally hit a major breakthrough. She sang one of her original songs she had been writing on her Instagram and it got recognized by fellow Toronto artist Jessie Reyez and her team. She was then invited to a workshop Jessie organized and there she had the opportunity to work with other artists, network and meet her manager Gavin Shepard, which ultimately lead to her acclaimed debut EP Hidden Gems. Tasha is an artist to watch.
